In Yozgat, old dowry chests come to life again, decorated with Seljuk and Ottoman figures in the wooden workshop established by the municipality in the historical mansion.

In the wooden handicraft workshop established by Yozgat Municipality, gift items belonging to the region, dowry, jewelry and pendants, and items such as lampshade and faldstool are produced. At the same time, the old dowry chests are decorated with Seljuk and Ottoman figures with wood carving technique, and turned into works of art.

Hakan Akçinlioğlu (44), who worked in the workshop, said that he had been producing wood carving art for 24 years and turned the old dowry chests into works of art.

Akçinoğlu stated that he is a graduate of the industrial vocational high school, wood section and said that he loves to deal with this job.

Explaining that he founded his workshop after graduating from school and started working in the wooden workshop of the municipality 4 years ago, Akçinlioğlu said, "We uncover historical motifs. The motifs on an ancient work that came to us we draw first then we engrave on wood, so our motifs are passed on to the next generations. "


Akçinlioğlu stated that they also do the restoration of old wooden items,
