MEXICO CITY - Along with technology and supplies for the furniture and cabinetry markets, products and training for the forestry sector also will be featured during the next four editions of MEM Industrial - Tecno Mueble Internacional. The leading fair for the wood and furniture manufacturing industry in Mexico and Latin America will take place Aug. 18-21 at Expo Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.
Bernd Rohde, general director of Hannover Fairs Mexico which produces the show, and León Jorge Castaños, general director of the National Forestry Commission (CONAFOR), signed the memorandum linking the country's forestry community with suppliers of machinery, technology and supplies for the processing of wood and wood products.
During the signing, Castaños said, “with this agreement, it is possible to follow up on an alliance started last year, which aims to strengthen and professionalize the country's forestry community with access to knowledge specialized, state-of-the-art technologies, as well as national and international businesses and contacts that allow the development of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises linked to the forestry sector. ”
Rohde also noted, “thanks to this memorandum, MEM Industrial - Tecno Mueble Internacional will be able to continue with its goal of promoting the sustainability of the forestry sector, its professionalization and internationalization, as well as making visible the quality of the industry's products. national forestry and furniture company."
"This agreement will last four years and will allow us not only to strengthen ties for MEM Industrial-Tecno Mueble Internacional, but we will be jointly promoting events strategic for the forestry sector, such as Expo MEXIFORMA,” added Palmira Arnaz Durán, CONAFOR coordinator in Mexico City.
During MEM Industrial 2020, CONAFOR participated with a pavilion within the “Forest Technology Area” section and had a prominent presence in the conference and seminar program of the event.
“The forestry sector is strategic for the fair and is a cornerstone for the wood and furniture transformation industry. Therefore, this agreement is a very relevant step, since it opens a space for dialogue and alliance between companies and the leading government institution in the sector," said Azul Ogazón, director of MEM Industrial- Tecno Mueble Internacional. "Additionally, one of the main themes for the 2021 edition is sustainability, where we will undoubtedly share innovations, best practices and new technologies for the forestry sector, shoulder to shoulder with CONAFOR.”
