MILAN – The new Bugatti Home Collection debuted this week at the Salone Del Mobile. The company says the new pieces are inspired by the curves of the well-known French sports cars.
“The shared values of both companies, including craftsmanship, innovation and design, position both companies at the pinnacle of their respective industry,” said Stephan Winkelmann, Bugatti president. “And even looking into the history of Bugatti furniture plays a big role, with Carlo Bugatti, the father of our founder Ettore, having been an interior designer, passing on his artistry to his sons.”
The contemporary Bugatti Home Cobra chair, in a limited edition, reinterprets the original version designed and d in 1902 by Carlo Bugatti. Limited to 110 pieces in the blue-and-white version, this chair is an exclusive tribute to the 110th anniversary of Bugatti and features the anniversary logo embroidered on the backrest.
In collaboration with Etienne Salomé, Bugatti Design’s deputy director, the designers slimmed down the original design, while continuing to respect the original.
Winkelmann said the Cobra chair is not the only item of the Bugatti Home Collection inspired by the French luxury brand. He said pieces such as the Chiron armchair, Chiron dormeuse, Vitesse chair and Marguerite coffee table take inspiration from the curves and materials found on Bugatti’s hyper cars.
“Everything in the collection, which bears the signatures of two of the most prestigious new international designers, Carlo Colombo and Toan Nguyen, alludes to performance, technology and elegance, essential features of the prestigious Bugatti hyper sports cars,” said Raffaella Vignatelli, Bugatti Luxury Living Group chairman.
