Çorum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TSO) Assembly Member of the Forest and Wood Products Group Murat Erdal stated that many furniture stores and factories are closed due to the new type of coronavirus (Kovid-19) epidemic; and that they expect the property owners not to ask for rent for a certain period of time.
In his statement to the correspondent of AA, Erdal stated that due to the Kovid-19 outbreak that affected the world, most furniture factories in Çorum temporarily stopped the production, and the stores could be opened under difficult conditions.
Erdal stated that the furniture shopkeepers were negatively affected by the epidemic in economic terms; he said. Underlining the need to join forces in the fight against the epidemic, Erdal said, "We request from property owners; as sector representatives; to take at least half of the current rental prices; for to strengthen our solidarity and contribute to our open furniture stores, with our belief that we will overcome these days together." he said.
Expressing that the tradesmen expect a sacrifice from the property owners, Erdal said: "As we all know, the troubled situation of our small and medium-sized enterprises is due to force majeure. We expect the owners to act with the responsibility of force majeure. Day; self-devotion day. We should continue; to float this ship by giving shoulder to shoulder together."
Erdal added that he thinks that the "Economic Stability Shield" package announced against the epidemic process will have an important role in overcoming this period.
