Bellesbumprom to expand supplies to Romania

MINSK, 16 May (BelTA) – Trade and economic cooperation prospects for the companies of the Belarusian timber, woodworking, pulp and paper industry concern Bellesbumprom were discussed at a meeting with representatives of Romania's ICCOFM in Minsk, BelTA learned from Bellesbumprom.

The meeting was organized in cooperation with Belarus' embassy in Romania to talk over supplies of woodworking products to Romania and also possible implementation of joint projects in industrial and housing construction.

The parties discussed, in particular, supplies of wood chipboard, plywood, different types of sawn goods, home decoration materials, interior doors, building structures and wooden houses.

Bellesbumprom companies showcased their manufacturing and export potential and introduced commercial proposals. “Representatives of the Romanian company praised the quality of products and show a big interest in them. After the talks the parties visited a number of companies,” the press service said.

Two more areas of cooperation were discussed during the meeting. Those were wooden house building and turnkey apartment decoration in block of flats.

Shklov-based Domostroyeniye company has already implemented similar projects in France.

According to the press service, the parties held a constructive dialogue and outlined areas of bilateral cooperation which can result in the growth of Belarusian exports to Romania.

ICCOFM is one of the largest companies in Romania. The company's annual turnover makes up €147 million. The company is engaged in turnkey industrial and housing construction, equipment assembly, electricity production, IT, aviation, healthcare and education services, and retail sales. The company is a founder of 30 chain stores which make part of Romania's biggest trading network.

Today, Belarus supplies plywood, timber, wood chipboard, paper, cardboard, furniture and matches to Romania. In 2018, Belarus' exports to Romania totaled $11.8 million, up 47.6% from 2017. Share:fvkoktgmPrint version 16.05.2019
